The irresistible urge to move my legs often arises during the moments when I am preparing to rest, whether it's for a nap or sleep.
I exhibit all the typical criteria associated with restless leg syndrome. During the summer, this becomes particularly problematic due to the combination of heat and sweat, which worsens the discomfort caused by the constant movement of my legs. As a result, I develop painful burning marks on my skin. While these marks are not dangerous, they are definitely painful.
In an attempt to find relief, I have tried shaking my hips instead of moving my legs. However, I have noticed that my body does not experience the same dopamine levels or provide the same relief as when I engage in leg movements.
Due to the weight of both my legs combined, which is approximately 35 kg, even minor movements in bed can be noticeable. While I appreciate that my partner is not overly sensitive to these movements, there are still limits to their tolerance. My restless legs do affect my partner's ability to fall asleep to some extent, which is already crossing a line and causing an impact on their sleep quality.
It's important for me to find ways to minimize the disturbance caused by my restless legs, not only for my own well-being but also to ensure a peaceful sleeping environment for my partner. Exploring potential remedies or seeking medical advice might be beneficial in managing this situation and improving the quality of sleep for both of us.
When I lie down, whether it's for sleep or not, I experience uncontrollable movement in my legs. This movement can persist for a few minutes to an hour. The primary actions my legs engage in are throbbing and pulling sensations. Interestingly, I find that I experience a sense of relief after these movements occur.
So far, I haven't found anything that could solve my restless leg syndrome. I do hope to find some sort of solution in the future because it's really impacting my sleep quality.
