"The Lonely Ghost" is a fiction created by Mike Ford. Created by Allison Zamora, a 7th grade student.
The Lonely Ghost by Mike Ford is a fiction tale filled with horror, mysterious clues, suspense, and a heartwarming ending. The story is about two sisters named Ava and Cassie. Ava is the protagonist, who is trying to get her sister back from this unknown spirit named Rosemary. The antagonist, Rosemary, is the Polter ghost. She was trying to possess Ava’s sister, Cassie. Ava had short blonde hair and liked to play soccer and hang out with her friends. Cassie, had long curls, dark hair, and looked like an old-fashioned photographer. She loved to read books and play video games by herself. They moved out of the city into a dusty, dirty, creepy old mansion in the small town of Ebenezer two weeks ago. Ava and Cassie were tearing up their newfound rooms when they discovered old and weird things in the walls of the mansion. Some of the things they found were a boombox, a box of cassettes, the previous owners' diary, and a weirdly drawn stick figure named Rosemary. Strangely, Cassie thought the drawing was intriguing because she thought it was the history of the mansion. When Ava and Cassie got on the bus to go to their new school, they met two girls; Gwen, a young black girl with beautiful Dutch braids who likes reading and playing soccer, and Ashia, a young olive-skinned girl with short dark hair and a thin structure; she carried her stuff in what looked like a yellow teddy bear that had the stuffing pulled out. Ashia accidentally told Ava and Cassie about the rumor that roamed around the town, saying that the mansion is an old, haunted house. As they arrived at school, Gwen and Ashia showed Cassie and Ava around the school by showing them their teachers for the rest of the semester until they got interrupted by Beth-Ann Jennings, a tall girl with blonde hair pulled into a single long braid and tanned skin. She rudely asked Cassie and Ava if they were new, and Cassie suddenly snapped at Beth-Ann.
According to Google, the rating of “The Lonely Ghost” by Mike Ford, is a nine out of ten since the story ended as a heartwarming adventure and a good hook for the readers' attention span. There are several cons to this story. Readers say the story's too short, or needs a different ending, and parents fear that the story might get into their children's heads. I believe this interesting book is a ten out of ten because it shows a close connection between siblings and has a heartwarming ending. My negative beliefs about this story are that it is too short, and the ending should have been a cliffhanger instead of a Christmas event and the sisters reuniting for suspense.
