So, the movie begins with Michael Schmidt working in a mall for a payment because he is poor, supporting his sister. He starts the day off by working and cleaning the floor, later cutting to a scene where he is in line waiting to get an ice cream. Before his order is complete, he sees a man take a boy (thinking he is getting kidnapped). He then chases the man until he pushes him toward a fountain. He brutally beats him up while the kids screams, “Daddy!” Then, he is escorted by the guards getting sent into a room.
Schmidt waits for a while until they call his name when they meet in an office where the person in charge of the mall, who is William Afton under an alias, tells him to either go to another mall to get a job, or work as a security guard in Freddy’s Place. At first, he declined the offer, but later he decides to call the number he got on the message. He heads to Freddy’s Place to start his job not knowing that the animatronics can move around.
The first night went smoothly; he took a sleeping pill to sleep at the job. Though when he was dreaming, he was dreaming about his brother who was kidnapped by someone in a car. He later would turn around and find five different kids staring at him. He begins to chase him down, but the kids are faster than him. He nearly catches up to a kid, but trips over a small rock, waking up on the floor.
He got up and started cleaning up the place before 6:00 AM hit the clock. He went to his house to wake up her sister up to go to school, while he goes to sleep. It cuts to a woman with a lawyer and two teenagers chatting about something. They talk about Michael Schmidt, and they soon plan to wreck the restaurant after Michael leaves the place. Time passes by, and he goes to his job to start the night. Though right when he enters the building, he notices shattered glass on the floor. He cleans it up to go to the security room to sleep again.
He is interrupted by a policewoman who later introduces herself as Vanessa. As the narrative progresses, Michael needs to bring Abby, his sister, to work.
While at Freddy's place, Michael's sister is woken up by a disturbing noise she hears. She tries to wake Mike up, but decides and check the noise coming from the stage without him. It cuts to a scene of her screaming, and it looks like she is getting eaten.
Michael wakes up from his dream not knowing where her sister is. She starts calling her name until he finds she is just giggling because the animatronics. They were tickling her and she was just telling them to stop. Freddy sees Mike and thinks he is a threat, so he turns bizarre and start to attack him. Before he is murdered, Abby tells them that Michael is her brother and tells Freddy to let him stay.
He stops and only stares at him. Vanessa later comes in and asks what is going on but is interrupted by the animatronics just standing still. Before she can ask, Abby gets an idea and tells everyone to build a fortress so all of them can hang out. Once they finish it up, Bonnie falls on the floor and gives a thumbs up that he is okay. They hang out for the rest of the time, but while playing music, Abby touches the guitar and passes out. They wait for her to wake up and then they continue to chill until the end of the night. Once they get out of the place, Vanessa tells Mike to never bring Abby to work.
Abby takes a taxi to Freddy’s place. Meanwhile Michael dream is quite bizarre. The five boys ask to have Abby, but he declines, so they attack him from his legs, chest, hands, arm until he wakes up.
The yellow bunny reveals himself as William Afton who happens to be Vanessa’s dad. He mocks her.
In the final battle, Abby exposes William Afton for the murderer he truly is. The animatronics realize their past and understand the role William took in their deaths. The animatronics did not like this and there mind set change to attack William Afton. He yells that there all useless pieces of junk; useless kids life. The animatronic start to remember their past.
They drag him into a dark abandon storage for him to die out from the suit, a spring trap. Michael and Abby carry Vanessa out of the building and immediately call 911 so that she would have a chance to survive. It cuts to a scene where Abby is in school, but not alone, she is playing with other girls. The teacher tells Michael that whatever he is doing to help Abby is great. One school ends, they head to the hospital to check on Vanessa to see if she was still alive.
They notice that she is still alive so they head to their house, while Michael ask what to eat. The movie ends with Michael and Abby eating together at the table and during the end scene a secret message spells out “Come find me.”
Google rates the movie a 4.4 out of 5 stars. It's pretty good and does a nice job with "fan service," but it requires some amount of prior knowledge to fully appreciate all the hidden gems.
