Q. How long have you worked at RSA and how long have you taught in total? 

It has been my second year at RSA, and this is my 12th year in education

Q. What college did you go to? What did you get your doctorate for? 

The University of Houston, go Cougs! I graduated in 2008, and they got my doctorate from the University of Texas A&M Kingsville in educational leadership.

Q: What inspired you to teach, and what subject? 

 I never thought I thought I was going to be a teacher. I wanted to go to the medical field, and that did not work out. My mom was an elementary teacher for 38 years, so I saw what she did, and I got alternatively certified one summer, and I started teaching math.

Q: What is your favorite travel destination? 

I would say Saint Croix. Where I went for my honeymoon, in the Virgin Islands.

Q: Do you have any hobbies? 

I do, I like to travel with my family; my wife and my 5-year-old little boy, we watch a lot of sports; we like to cheer on the University of Houston Cougars.

Q: Do you have any pets? 

We have three dogs. We have a golden lab, Bailey; we have a schnauzer, Louie; we have a Chihuahua, Chloe. 

Q: Are you a fan of any sport? 

Everybody except the Dallas Cowboys.

Q: Did you live anywhere before Harlingen? 

I was born and raised in San Benito, I currently live in Harlingen, and then I moved away for college but came back.

Q: Have you ever won an award? 

I won an award two years ago from Region 1.
