She walked down the staircase
Beaming with joy
Heart excited
But brain paranoid
All this commotion
From one simple request
A princess in her own kingdom
Was simply just a guest
Rumors whispered around the old pine tree
Where she sat in the sun basking with glee
She picked up a flower and put it in her hair
But it flew away and all she did was stare
It was like a symbol, a sign
That it wasn't meant to be
So she packed her bags and quickly fled
