RMO trains faculty on HUSOCOM research publication
The Office of the Vice President of Research, Extension and Development (OVPRED), through the Research Management Office (RMO), organized the Pathways to Refereed Journal Publication in the Fields of Humanities, Social Sciences and Communication (HUSSCOM) on June 22-23 and 25-27, 2020 through a series of Zoom meetings.
Thirty (30) participants with unpublished manuscripts from the Colleges of Accountancy and Finance, Arts and Letters, Business Administration, Communication, and Political Science and Public Administration, and from the Branches in Bataan, Calauan, Lopez, Quezon City, Mulanay, Parañaque, Sto. Tomas Branch, Taguig, and Unisan joined the training-workshop in their respective homes.
Dr. Jessie S. Barrot, the Dean of the College of Education, Arts and Sciences of the National University served as the Resource Person in the 5-day webinar. He focused on providing tips on how to write the different sections of a journal article – Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. In each of these sections, Dr. Barrot has suggested ways to improve style and content of manuscripts as the participants individually presented their works in the sessions.
In her welcome speech, Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development, recognized the efforts of the faculty members for not letting the pandemic intervene with their dedication and commitment to improve their manuscripts through participating in the week-long activity.
This project of the RMO aims to train faculty members on the conventions of writing for Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals and to provide assistance on how these manuscripts can later be published. With the goal of reaching 100 publications every year, the OVPRED will continuously find ways to support the university researchers in the conduct, completion, and dissemination of their research works.
