Chief

The CETR Chief has the following functions:

• Fosters multidisciplinary research and development in the different fields of engineering. CETR is an outcomes-oriented research center that undertakes engineering research and incorporate the latest technological advances to produce globally competitive innovations.
• Strategically plan the research program of the center and ensure its successful implementation in meeting the research objectives and deliverables of every research project and activity
• Participates as a member of the University Research and Development Council (UREDCO) in the priority-setting, implementation and evaluation of the research and development program of the university
• Facilitates and ensures the continuous preparation of research proposals as well as the conduct of high-quality research projects in the field of specialization in accordance with the research priorities of the institute and the university in general
• Continuously establishes and maintains linkages and collaborations with other researchers from academic and reputable research institutions in the field of specialization both locally and internationally
• Assists in the mentoring of faculty members and student researchers in the field with relevant activities of the center in promoting the research culture of the university
• Plans and promote possible collaborations with other research centers of the institute and other research components of the university
• Coordinates and cooperates with the office of the director in ensuring the effective implementation of the major functions of the institute.
