2) Disagreements that are not the reason for divorce.
Though we have disagreements on many other important matters,
my suffering from our dysfunctional relationship is the deal-breaking reason for me to end our marriage.
The other major topics of disagreement we have are noted here.
Although these are all matters of great importance to me, these are not the reason to end our marriage
(though closure on some would be nice).
Philosophy / Religion
These include various theological interpretations and other non-essential biblical doctrines and values.
Such as Eschatology (afterlife), for example, is of little importance to me.
But cosmology (the science of the origin and development of the universe) on the other hand, is of tremendous importance to me.
So is philosophy, for example, epistemology, which is a theory of knowledge, especially with regard to its methods, validity, and scope.
Epistemology is the investigation of what distinguishes justified belief from opinion.
My Passions
Other topics of passionate importance to me are; astrophysics, specifically the James Webb Space Telescope.
Playing musical instruments, diligently practicing guitar, improving in technique and skill every day.
Guitar
Improving my singing ability and guitar playing skills, playing rock, classical, and worship music.
Painting
Painting, both Oil and Acrylic are very important to me.
Politics - although we have a massive disagreement here, I surrender that it is also ultimately non-essential.
Science
Science, however, is of absolute importance, as it is the foundation of the universe that God has put us in.
I believe science to be Strictly the disciplined study of God's natural physical creation, and nothing more than that.
It is separate and distinct from the “spiritual and supernatural” Realms which I believe to be of equal importance to science but of ultimately greater value than science.
Thus, I put my faith in God and not in science.
So, we are on the same page as where our faith is.
My faith has led me to believe and trust in science.
I think you are in denial of most of the science that matters because they conflict with your view of the young earth.
I understand why you believe that; because your allegiance and loyalty is to God first and you think that science is trying to invalidate God; and for that, I actually do respect your beliefs. But then this leads to strange arguments between the two of us when we are standing on the beach in front of the ocean and I start talking about 200-million-year-old sharks and we get into fighting over it.
Incongruence
This incongruence violates the very continuity of reality, life and the universe.
False beliefs about objective reality like that of young earth invalidate entire scientific fields of disciplines as useless and wrong.
Am I really to believe that most of the natural sciences, such as;
physics, geology, astronomy, biogenetics, paleontology, anthropology, etc. are all false?
Paleontology, for example, is the scientific study of life that existed prior to the start of the Holocene epoch (roughly 11,700 years before present).
How do you explain Vestigial organs if not by evolution and natural selection?
To simply deny the very existence of 99 percent of life on earth is pure human hubris, ignorant of facts, unwilling to look at the evidence.
Evolution isn't something you believe in; it is something you either know about or don’t.
These concepts are important to me because of my understanding of the very nature of reality.
I also want to teach the girls a coherent worldview.
Anyways, the point is that as important as all those matters are, I am okay and comfortable with having some disagreements on these.
