Hello. I am david. I am a marine corps veteran. I am struggling with a number of issues, including PTSD from my deployment to Afghanistan in 2009. I got out of the Marine Corps in 2015 and I hastily jumped into a marriage. Long story short my wife was very abusive to me; it was a chaotic marriage for the last 8 years. I have been separated for over a year now. I've been living on my own in my own apartment for the last 8 months.Â
I realized that I need some inpatient treatment. I need help breaking some extremely destructive Habits that are damaging my health. I would like to start inpatient treatment as soon as possible. I would rather check myself in now and get myself On a better path forward than wait and not do anything. I fear if I do nothing, nothing will change.Â
Please reach out to me. Thanks. God bless
During the course of my treatment, I will participate in:Â
Comprehensive Psychiatric/ diagnostic evaluation,Â
collaborative treatment planning, individual therapy,Â
extensive group therapy, skills training, family therapy,Â
recreational activities and expressive therapies,Â
and comprehensive discharge planning.Â
DBT is a specialized form of Cognitive Behavioral therapy which has been shown to be highly effective in assisting people like me to reduce self destructive behaviors and to assist in regulating their emotions. Â
This comprehensive program will heighten my awareness to my self-destructive thoughts and behaviors and will facilitate the development of healthier methods of coping.Â
I will also be assisted in looking at lifestyle changes that will reduce crisis in their lives. Â
Individualized homework assignments focused on treatment goals will be provided as well as a comprehensive plan of how to manage symptoms and stressors outside of the hospital.Â
I will focus on my daily habits so that I can generalization these skills into my daily life.
Because I exhibit emotional dysregulation and self-destructive behaviors, with concurrent diagnoses:Â
depression,Â
anxiety disorder,Â
post traumatic stress disorderÂ
I am an ideal candidate for this comprehensive inpatient treatment.
Adult Services recognizes the need to provide concurrent treatment for individuals struggling with both a psychiatric diagnosis and an addiction. Â
Individualized assignments which are tailored to the patient’s stage of treatment will be provided. Patients will be educated on the interaction between their psychiatric symptoms and their addiction. Specific focus will be placed on the development of a relapse prevention plan and making recommendations for continued dual diagnosis treatment to continue to promote their recovery upon discharge.
