Dead Rabbit V3 Clone
A really great clone, but consider buying the genuine model if available
I've had fun testing a genuine Hellvape Dead Rabbit M, which is akin to a mesh RTA version of the Dead Rabbit V3 RTA shown here. Clone versions are available from Wish and Aliexpress (for non USA) customers, and I've seen purportedly genuine ones on DHgate
Pros
A dual coil setup used in single-coil mode for dimitri. 2 sets of terminals, so a spare if the originals wear out
Top cap and base are very easy to grip for manual removal without tools (unlike the Zeus X)
A non-rotating build deck which keeps the design simple and eliminates a potential source of unreliability. I personally much prefer these fixed build decks
Good build quality for a clone, fits together very nicely and smoothly
Overall, a very useable device. I can see myself using this regularly
Cons
The internal inner airflow chamber (chimney) is not captively held inside the body and easily comes loose when the base is removed. The genuine model appears to incorporate a more standard design (see pics below)
On a couple of occasions the O ring attached to the cap has come out when the cap was unscrewed. It's very easy to replace so just annoyance value.
Dissapointingly, the set of O-rings on this clone is incomplete, and fails to include a spare ring for the one fitted to the chimney top part, which is the one I'd expect to suffer a relatively high degree of wear. However the size of this particular ring does not appear to be super-critical and I've found spares commonly available in generic multi-sized O-ring sets available on ebay and similar.
Spare sets of O-rings don't appear common for this tank. So far I've only found one supplier, and these were listing only 2 sets in stock.
Conclusion
A refreshingly useable RTA, does everything extremely well. Personally, I'd highly recommend, athough it's a pity about that chimney design on the knockoff I have. I have no idea if this is common to other clones, but I imagine the genuine model is almost an impossible to beat all-rounder, and I might even see if I can source on of these for my own toolbox.
What's included. Dismally, only 3 spare O-rings and missing the one for the inner airflow chamber
Impressive finish (for a clone) on the 510 pin. A chamfered edge and reasonably burr-free screwdriver slot. A lot better than many I've seen.
On the genuine model the chimney appears to engage into an O-ring in the main RTA body. On my knockoff a sealing O-ring is fitted to the chimney top and compressed against a mating surface in the body, so the chimney can fall out when disassembled.
I really like this low, non-swivelling, dual coil build deck. A single-coil installation is my preference for dimitri use
View with cap removed showing decent sized fill ports(the curved ones on the edge)
Top cap, removed by a quarter turn. Very good, but it'd be even better if the outer ring was a tad more securely held in.
