Norway's Guidelines

Lyme neuroborreliosis:

Do we treat according to guidelines?

Lucy Barnes

Approximately 2/3 of doctors in Norway that they checked up on (sent patients surveys to fill out- the sneaky so and so’s) are NOT following the recommendations in the Norway Lyme disease guidelines for treatment "duration".

Also, the doctors in Norway are NOT prescribing an "oral" (as recommended) in approximately 2/3 of the cases, but instead IV, and combo of IV’s and orals.

For example- QUOTE- "Treatment was given orally in 77 (30%) patients, intravenously in 110 (44%), both orally and intravenously in 65 (26%)."

Two of the Norway authors on this new report were also the original Norway guideline authors. Bet they aren’t real happy right about now.

AND... many times the IDSA's stupid studies, and the 2006 IDSA Lyme disease guideline recommendations, and the USA's old clinical trials that the IDSA keeps using against patients and doctors, etc. were used in the Norway guidelines as "support" for their recommendations.

In fact, the Norway guidelines had American IDSA written all over them from the minute they came out! So, Wormser, et. al.- it appears no one that's got any sense believes you anymore!
