Module 1: History & Organizations

Distance education is not new and can be traced back to the early 1800s. We explored distance education's historical development and key milestones to understand its evolution. What significant events have shaped the history of distance and online education? Additionally, we examined the key organizations that have influenced this field.

We prepared a video presentation to address the following topics on history and organizations relating to distance/online education.

1. Historical Development of Distance/Online Education. We illustrated each milestone with significant developments, events, or figures. Also, we shared our thoughts on the future of distance/online education.

2. Key organizations for distance/online education, including their mission, visions, activities, and resources. Also, we researched and shared the state or district-level organization (division, unit, or office) highly relevant to our workplaces.
