Game Recap
What a successful first Jamboree for this U-Can group, traveling to the RWJBarnabas Hockey House in Neward, NJ! The players' joy and excitement at this venue was great to see. Their hard work at September practices was evident and in addition, the girls played on half ice. Passes were made, battles for the puck were fought for in the corners and shots were taken on net. The players even got to play keep away with the ref as a warm up.

Our goalie volunteers were so good in net. Each goalie kept a tally of how many saves they made. L. Carrullo held her form despite the pads being as tall as she is and maintained that form throughout the game. M. Carrullo pounced on any puck that came near her and let the coaches know how many she proudly saved. D. Stephenson stood tall in net and tracked the puck with her stick as if to say, "not today". Finally, a goalie was born on this day as E. Lemieux came off the ice proclaiming, "I want to be a goalie!"

Other highlights included A. Fox, J. Kleckner & E. Lemiux making a total of 3 passes to each other, breaking out of their zone. A. Fox made a shot on net with a nice save by the opposing goalie. J. Kleckner and D. Stephenson were not afraid of battling in the corners for puck possession. L. Carrullo was dialed in so she could make several breakout passes from behind the net to her sister M. Carrullo who would try to skate through the fray to the opponents net.

This U-Can team repped the Lady Patriots very well this past weekend. The players earned their commemorative patch and helmet stickers! Can't wait for our home opener Jamboree later this month.

Game Recap

10/15 Game Recap

Lady Patriots 14U AA traveled to Morristown, New Jersey Sunday to play their first MAWHA match up against the NJ Colonials. LP started strong in the first period, keeping gameplay in the offensive zone, but NJ found their bearings and ended up scoring two goals. During the second period, LP struggled to move gameplay back into the offensive zone, however LP goalie R. Swidorski was lights out in the second period, stopping 20 out of 21 shots on goal! LP did a better job in the third period creating quality scoring opportunities including a short handed unassisted goal by K. Wenhold at the 6:08 minute mark.  Final score LP 1-NJ 6. Congratulations to player of the game R. Swidorski for stopping 39 out of 45 shots on goal, also a shout out to A. Macciche for her consistent hustle and back checking."

Lady Patriots 14U AA had their first MAWHA match up with rival Little Flyers Orange this past Saturday, and although it ultimately ended with a 1-2 loss, LP played smart physical hockey from start to finish. LF got the first goal in the first period, LP answered back at the 3:47 minute mark with a breakaway goal by C. Sullivan. The score remained 1-1 until LF scored again in the second period, which was quickly answered with a controversial LP goal that was ultimately called off. Big shout out to player of the game C. Powers for her continued hustle all three periods. Another shout out to goalie R. Swidorski for saving 41 out of 43 shots on goal.

LP 14UAA had a second home game Sunday, against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 14 U AA. Lady Patriots came out big offensively in the first period, first goal at the 12:08 minute mark by C. Game Recap

U19 took on the Mid Atlantic Showcase and came out with the Gold Medal! The team really shined this weekend making connecting passes and ensuring that our team was successful.
First game was a tough game against Snider Hockey resulting in a tie. Patriots had many athletes away for homecoming and school events, but no fear the Patriots were able to overcome. They battled the morning of Saturday against Lehigh Valley Phantoms team and came away with a second tie of the tournament. Again a short bench due to SAT Morning and school events.
Saturday Night the Patriots figured out the game plan and having nearly a full bench they were able to come away with the win over top a physical Mighty Moose team. Patriots win 7-3. J. Lee skated away with a Hat Trick on the evening!
Sunday the full Patriot squad was in attendance knowing that the Championship was on the line. They were ready to go as you heard the buzzing and the murmurs of 'Barbeque Sauce' through out the bench. These kids were ready for the game and they showed it from the first puck drop through the final whistle. The final score was 3-1 with I. Grusheski and K. Mollenkof scoring the tallies for the Patriots.

Women's Red

Game Recap

Patriots Red took on the Philadelphia Freeze in their first Sunday Night matchup of the season! R. Greene fresh off a flight in from Florida made sure she made her impact in the UWHL 2023-2024 season by tallying 2 goals in the Patriots 3-0 win. A. Schnarr followed up in the third period with the final goal of the game.
Despite the teams lack of shift changes due to the 6 player bench, every player had two shifts!
They made sure to keep the puck moving through the zones, as they have learned from Coach Paul the puck moves faster than any player.
It was a great night in Philadelphia for the Patriots, Schnarr, L. Cherrin and G. Vescio held the blue line strong while Greene, J. Blyth, C. Luciano drove the offensive pressure against the Freeze!
