U10 vs Little Flyers -
October 2, 2021

Lady Patriots played a home game versus Little flyers on Saturday 10/2. Though the outcome was a loss, the girls played hard throughout three periods.

P. Hartz played in net for the Patriots and turned away 24 of the Little Flyers shots.

On offense our drives were deflected by their defense or the goaltending.

Defensively we saw aggressive back checking and puck movement to get the puck out of our defensive end.

A. Willison received the most vocal award for her calling for the puck on the ice as well as leading cheers on the bench.

P. Rogers received hardest worker for always having her feet moving when on the ice.

Lady Patriots Blue vs Philadelphia Freeze -
October 3, 2021

The Lady Patriots women (blue) opened up their season Sunday, 10/3, playing host to the Philadelphia Freeze. The teams proved to be an even matchup, going scoreless through the first two frames.

The Freeze were the first to break the scoreless tie on a hectic play in front of the net, and later took a 2-0 lead on a redirection from a point shot into the final 5 minutes of play. With about 3 minutes remaining in the game, the Freeze took a holding penalty that opened the door and the Patriots took advantage, with a beautiful shot from the slot by S. Fothergill. The Patriots pulled the goalie in the remaining minute to try to pull even, but it proved to be futile and the Freeze walked away with the 2-1 victory.

The Patriots had many chances throughout the game, putting up 31 shots while Patriots goalie K. Haley, made 28 saves on 30 shots.

The team will look to regroup as they welcome the Phoenix on Sunday October 24.
