U8 vs Capitals &
U8 Mite Fright Jamboree

The Lady Patriots 8u kicked the weekend off with a Halloween themed Friday night practice. They were up bright and early for their 7am start against the Capitals for an in house game. The girls came out strong and kept the momentum for all three periods.
The girls kept brought the same energy for their Sunday morning Halloween Mite Fright Jamboree. Never once did they slow down through all six cross ice games;
J. Plante worked hard and hustled to get to the puck. A. Myers looked great in goal as she made a save using her helmet along with R. Lafratta who may have started one game unsure of how she felt in net but never once did that come across to as she made save after save. S. Richards knows a thing or two about defense as she worked hard in each game protecting her goal.
L. Thomas, P. Hartz and E. Sprague surely made the other teams work to keep up with them and the puck. E. Asterito played strong defense helping to keep the puck out of the zone. D. Strobel has perfected the stick tap and staying on top of the other team anytime they had the puck.
Every skill and drill worked on in practice is showing through on the ice. The girls are playing strong and having fun.

UCan begins their Season

U-Can played in their first ever hockey games and had so much fun.

Every player took turns playing in goal with G. Pinegar and M. Montagna donning the pads twice because they loved stopping the puck.

T. Medina and C. Christou assisted M. Waibel on her goals.

B. Ilg was relentless in her back-checking. R. Ilg came up with a play using the coach-board and then tried to execute it during one of the 6 games they played.

C. Connors just kept track of the puck and skated hard to get it despite some of the faster players.

Finally student coaches J. Shanks and M. Murphy were instrumental in maintaining bench management.

U-Can’s hockey journey has officially begun.

U10 vs NJ Colonials - Oct 30, 2021

U10 is back after a couple weeks off. They came out hard against the NJ Colonials and unfortunately the colonials struck first with a goal half way through the first period. Closing out the first period the Patriots saw some break outs and some up ice opportunities however the Colonials goaltender turned away shot after shot. Colonials would end the period with another puck pushed passed Patriots Goalie P. Hartz.

Second period opened very similar with good hockey from both teams without a score until halfway. Colonials would score two quick goals and then a third within the last minute of the period. V. Naticchione made beautiful break out passes to A. Bucci who always found herself in the right place with her toes up ice. Bucci won multiple battles along the boards to fight the puck out of the Patriots' zone.

Third period saw the final two goals for the Colonials to close the score 7-0. Patriots fought until the final whistle working hard to get the puck in the Colonials zone and work it towards the net.

Hartz ended the game with 21 saves.

Bucci won hardest worker.

U10 vs House Flyers - Oct 31, 2021

U10 woke early Sunday Halloween morning to open their In House season. 6:40 am proved to be tough for the short bench but the girls powered through. P. Rogers turned away shot after shot until the Flyers broke through with their first goal. Patriots dominated the play throughout the ice and many of the items from the last weeks of practices are being to be shown through their playing. Flyers would go on to raise the score through the third period.

A. Willison was tenacious going after every puck and making sure that she was a presence known to anyone carrying the puck. O. Connors took the puck wide for many chances that the Patriots couldn't capitalize on in front of the net. Finally in the third period off a pass from A. Bucci, Connors would come around the top of the circle and fire one at the net that would go in!

Defensively S. Carter was vocal on the ice allowing her team mates to know she was open, had the puck or just cheering on her team.

Our bench might have only had 8 skaters but we were the louder bench in the rink that morning.

Rogers had 13 saves.

Carter was awarded most vocal.

Willison was awarded hardest worker
