Game recap 11/ 18–11 /19

Lady Patriots 14U AA traveled to Summit, NJ Saturday for a match up with the Beacon Hill club on their outdoor ice rink. LP did a great job in the first period focusing on puck possession, keeping gameplay in their offensive zone. The game remained scoreless until BH chipped one in the second period, which was quickly answered by a K. Wenhold  goal to tie it up. LP took the lead in the second period with a breakaway snipe by A. Micciche.

LP held onto the lead until midway through the third period when BH tied it up. Final score LP 2-BH 2. A big shout out to player of the game E. Kremser for her focus on possession and hustle all three periods. Also a big defensive shout out to T. O’Keefe for her speed, diligence, and ability to create offensive opportunities from both the blue line and the breakaway.

Lady Patriots returned to Hatfield for a MAWHA league game on Sunday against the New Jersey Devils. NJ came out strong in the first period putting 16 shots on goal and scoring twice. Although LP continued to struggle offensively in the second period, they did a great job shutting down the NJ offense, keeping them scoreless. LP brought the game within a goal in the third period, A. Micciche assisted by K. Wenhold. The score remained  2-1 until an empty netter by the Devils with 35 seconds left in the game. A huge shout out to Lady Patriots goalie R. Swidorski for keeping this game competitive saving 40 out of 42 shots on goal. Also shout out to players of the game C. Powers and M. O’Neill for leaving it all out there all three periods.
