U8 Turkey Revenge Jamboree

After a few days off u8 had a Saturday morning MAWHA Turkeys Revenge Jamboree, consisting of five cross ice games hosted at Hatfield Ice.

The girls came out ready to play and the momentum only gained from there. D. Strobel and R. Lafratta were more focused than ever, skating harder, skating faster. P. Hartz held her ground in goal against Team Philadelphia during the first game of the jamboree.

The Lady Patriots have learned that by working as a team, they are landing more pucks in goal and they showed it during their matchup against the Lady Knights in the second game. There were no signs of E. Asterito backing down.

A. Myers came out fierce for their third game matched against the NJ Devils Youth, working hard and scoring several goals.

During their fourth game, the girls would find themselves matched against their former Coach, Coach Mary and the Lady Patriots Red. L. Thomas enjoyed the match up against her former Coach and learned she’s not the only aggressive player on the ice.

During the last game of the jamboree, the girls were up against the PHC Bells. This was a competitive game for both teams. A. Negro came out fierce in the final matchup, not showing any signs of slowing down.

E. Sprague was in net and held a shutout, leading her team to an overall victorious Jamboree.

The girls defended their home ice while being matched against some fierce competitor with every player scoring during the jamboree!

U8 vs In House Knights

The Lady Patriots u8 kicked the weekend off with a 7am in house game against the Knights. A. Myers came out ready to play; skating hard, passing smart and getting the first shot in goal. It didn’t take long after that for the girls to get their groove.

R. Lafratta kicked off as goalie during the first period and made some good saves. P. Hartz showed her skills as she floated the puck in net twice. D. Strobel skated hard throughout all three periods, proving that hard work pays off.

Both teams played aggressive and fought for the puck. The other team never had a chance when S. Richards was skating with the puck as she flew down the rink scoring goals. A. Pinchuk was the second up as goalie for the game, taking several shots on goal and making saves. E. Asterito showed she isn’t just a defenseman as she was digging in deep and scoring. L. Thomas scored a hat trick by the end of the second period.

As the girls entered the third period, they were playing smarter and working together as a team. E. Sprague never let up, tracking the puck and playing hard-as if she was lined up against her two older brothers. A. Negro was the Patriots goalie in the third period- confident and making saves.

The Lady Patriots took the game with a final score of 11-5.

UCan Turkey Revenge Jamboree

This Jamboree set of games was a turning point for our team because the players have begun to get their ""hockey chops & grit"". All of the coaches were impressed with the progress each and every player made.

In Game 1, C. Connors made 4 saves in goal with huge smiles on her face. M. Waibel & M. Noga each scored a goal with hard work getting out of their zone and into position to shoot on net. B. IIg made a wrap-around shot attempt with M. Montagna crashing the net. G. Pinegar was always moving to get herself in position to support the puck as was T. Medina and R. IIg

Game 2 was notable because M. Montagna had 11 saves in goal and B. IIg had a ""saucy"" shot on goal while hustling to backcheck the entire game. R. IIG & C. Connors worked hard to get to and crash the net to prevent any goals from going in. M. Noga was 100% ready to go each shift because she loved playing in her first tournament with her new teammates.

Game 3 saw T. Medina make 7 amazing saves working hard to track the puck and prevent any rebounds despite having a lot of traffic in front of & around her. C. Connors showed excellent defensive play while Maddie M. and Maddie W. displayed great backchecking to prevent goals from going in. G. Pinegar worked hard tracking the puck in order to get into an offensive or defensive position.

Game 4 opened up with G. Pinegar in net, making 7 excellent saves against a team swarming all around her. The players had renewed energy coming off of the break and showed the staff how much grit they really have. M. Waibel double-deeked to score a goal, assisted by R. IIG and M. Noga. T. Medina's defensive play was excellent and relentless which helped her goalie out so much. B. IIG continued to skate hard getting control of the puck and head to the opponents' net or backchecking to make sure to help her goalie out.

Finally, Game 5 would test our players because their opponents were fast and furious, pelting our goalies M. Montagna and T Medina with shots. M. Montagna had 5 hard-earned saves before leaving the game . T. Medina had an excellent breakout to M. Noga with R. IIG and C. Connors in position to receive the pass and then stepped in net & stood tall until the last second. M. Waibel efforts to help her teammates out by working hard on both ends of the ice did not go unnoticed.
