U19 A vs PHC Belles

Sunday, the Lady Patriots played an early game against the PHC Belles, and came out with a 5-0 win. Goals were scored by A.York (1), A.Micalowski (1), C.Holtzworth (1), and M.Murphy (2).

Congratulations to goalie I.Leopold on another shut out! After a tough loss last week, the Lady Patriots seem to be getting back on track, and look forward to playing some games next weekend!

U10 vs In House BlackHawks

Lady Patriots woke up early Saturday morning for a tough battle with the In-house Blackhawks. The Willison sibling show down had A. Willison playing strong up the boards against her brother and steady back checking throughout the game.

Defensively, C. Carter and A. Frantz worked hard to keep the house clear as K. Smoyer and V. Naticchione played hard along the boards for several strong breakouts.

Centers C. Schultz and D. Thomas battled hard for good puck support to gain the neutral zone.

Goaltender P. Rogers had a great game turning away several odd man rushes.

Ultimately the Patriots fell to the in-house Blackhawks but looked forward to MAWHA play Sunday in Aston.

Smoyer Won hardest worker for the game.

Women's Red vs Reapers

The Lady Patriots battled against the Reapers this Saturday. This game was the first of back to back games.

R. Greene opened up the scoring with a nice breakaway in the first period that put the Patriots up 1-0.

The Patriots sustained great back checking and pressure in the offensive zone through out the entire game but the Reapers pulled out the win and defeated the Patriots 5-1.

Women's Blue vs Freeze

On Sunday, 11/7, the Lady Patriots Blue squad took on the Philadelphia Freeze for the second of three meetings this season. The game got off to a slow offensive start, but there were plenty of chances to be had by both teams. The Freeze would be the first to break the ice late in the first period and carry a 1-0 into the second.

The Patriots, however, would quickly try to turn things around with a quick goal from J. Schneider from a feed from S. Silvestri. Not to be outdone, the Freeze would storm back down the ice three minutes later to retake the lead on a nasty backhand shot from the circle. The Patriots continued to press and would be rewarded with a late second period top shelf tally by J. Schneider for her second of the game, assisted by R. Wilson. The teams would go into the third period knotted at 2 a piece.

Four minutes into the third period, the Patriots would take their first lead of the game, on a goal from the slot by defense-woman S. Bardell, assisted by J. Schneider (her third point of the game). The Patriots would continue to hold that lead, until late in the third on a bank play by the Freeze to tie it back up, 3-3. It would only take 15 seconds for the Patriots to take the lead again on a goal by K. Smith off a pass from S. Pulley. K. Smith’s goal would prove to be the game winner as the Patriots got revenge from their home opener loss against the Freeze.

Goalie K. Haley would end the game with 19 saves on 22 shots. The Lady Patriots now hold a record of 2-1 and look to add another W to the win column when they play host to the Jaguars on Sunday 11/14.

U12 A vs Snider Hockey

The U12A squad traveled into Philadelphia to face off against league rival Snider Hockey. Both teams were looking for their first win of the season and the Patriots talked before the game about being the team walking away with the win at the end of the day.

Snider took over the game from the opening face-off, holding the Patriots in their own zone for what seemed like the entire first half of the first period but once the girls were able to get their skates moving they were able to start moving the puck out of their own zone and started created rushes up the ice. Q. Gorniak took charge in leading the rushes from her own zone, craftily skating around the Snider players on the ice throughout the entire game. It was one of these rushes in which she was able to gain the zone and set herself up in the slot for a beautiful shot to open the scoring 1-0 for her first goal of the year. The other Patriot Defense players followed suit as H. Meyers, A. Richards, and E. Slobodrian all were able to create offensive zone chances by carrying the puck up the ice and gets quality shots on net.

As the game progressed into the second period the Forwards got into the action as well creating numerous odd man rushes and breakaways. Snider's goalie had to make some spectacular saves to keep the score 1-0.

In the third period, the Patriots continued to create chances and started to crash the net and pick up rebound chances which lead to two more goals by A. Micciche and E. Connors. The breakaways continued for B. Herold and E. Kremser who each had a few chances that were saved beautifully by Snider's goaltender.

Finally, the Patriots goalie S. Secules did not have an easy morning having to make some astounding saves of her own but at the end of the day turned away all 21 Snider shots to earn the shutout victory for the Lady Patriots!

The U12A squad looks for their second win of the season as they host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms this Saturday at Hatfield followed by a friendly scrimmage against the newly formed Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Lady Knights at Rev on Sunday afternoon."

U10 vs Little Flyers

Lady Patriots traveled to Ice Works to take on the Philadelphia Little Flyers in MAWHA league play.

Patriots played strong throughout the game with excellent goaltending by P. Hartz who turned away 41 shots.

Offense controlled the game with turn overs created by O. Connors, A. Bucci and T. Fistick. Strong open ice plays were seen by P. Rogers and A. Yarborough to spring odd man rushes for A. Willison and D. Thomas for excellent scoring chances. Patriots played to the whistle in both offense and defensive zones throughout the game.

Defensive core stood strong at the blue line with shots by A. Frantz and K. Smoyer leading to rebounds and offensive opportunities. V. Naticchione showed great patience with the puck in the defensive zone and communication with S. Carter to kill off a Little Flyers power play opportunity.

Carter awarded hardest worker

C Schultz awarded most vocal

U16 vs Skyland Lady Kings

The 16UA traveled up to Stockholm, New Jersey on Sunday to play the Skyland Lady Kings. They went in with 7 skaters total and came out with an 8-4 win!

Z. miller started the scoring off for the Patriots early in the first period, followed by M. Hawkins with an unassisted goal and another one at 6:25 ending the first period 3-0 Patriots.

Center E. Bray, came in fast in the 2nd with a goal assisted by defenseman S. Honeycutt. The Lady King’s came back with 2 more in 2nd but skaters Miller and Hawkins were quick to erase. Giving Miller her second and Hawkins her 3rd of the game! A pass play was made by A. Stefanou giving her a goal on the board.

The Skyland Lady Kings added another 2 in the third but player Honeycutt was sure to finish strong with a top-shelfer in the 3rd assisted by aggressive defenseman E. Puleo. Vicious back checks were made by defenseman A. Meulenberg in which came game dependent.

Goalie C. Reeves kept the girls ahead in scoring and played a great game!

All in all, the Patriots increased their league play to 4-2-0 and our excited to play the Ramapo Saints this Sunday!
