Short Summary of the book:

In this book, we meet a brilliant young scientist by the name of Jehan Fasih. Jehan detests violence and has tried to create a drug which will remove the violent streak in humanity. However, the drug has side-effects and is far from perfected when the government wants to force him to put it to use on alleged terrorists. What follows is a story of intrigue, suspense and betrayal. Jehan is forced to take matters in his own hands and in doing so betray his mentor. Can he succeed and avoid bloodshed, misuse of powers and tyranny?

This book is also a story about love, loyalty and the goodness in people.

What I liked about the book:

This was a fabulous book which made it difficult to put it down. The start appeared boring. Boy, was I mistaken, within the first few pages suspense and intrigue picked up and I was no longer able to put it down. There went my Saturday morning, I only got out of bed around one pm, having finished the book.

What I didn’t like about the book:

I absolutely loved the book.

My favourite bits in the book:

I loved how Jehan was able to manipulate those who were used to manipulating others and come out on top.

My least favourite bits in the book:

There were no bits I disliked.

Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?

As far as I am aware this book stands on its own. However, the author has also written another book, ‘A flight of broken wings’, which was another one I really enjoyed reading.

What books could this be compared to and why?

It is difficult to compare this book to any others. The book contains bits of the best in a lot of other books and I can certainly recommend it.
