John 1:1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:18 (KJV)
18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
John 4:19-24 (KJV)
19 The woman said, “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain. But you Jews say that Jerusalem is the place where people must worship.”
21 Jesus said, “Believe me, woman! The time is coming when you will not have to be in Jerusalem or on this mountain to worship the Father. 22 You Samaritans worship something you don’t understand. We Jews understand what we worship, since salvation comes from the Jews. 23 But the time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. In fact, that time is now here. And these are the kind of people the Father wants to be his worshipers. 24 God is spirit. So the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Psalm 145:18 (KJV)
18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
Luke 24:39 (KJV)
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
John 14:6 (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 16:7-33 (KJV)
The Spirit of Truth Will Come
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 17:3-5 (KJV)
This is Eternal Life
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Acts 17:16-33 (KJV)
God is Not Far from Any of Us
16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?
20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
33 So Paul departed from among them.
These are King James verses about God and Truth, and Spirit...No man has seen God at any time...But God is not far from any of us...No man can see a Spirit, and God is Spirit...When Jesus appeared to His disciples and they could see Him after His death...Jesus still had His physical body after His death...Jesus tells us after His resurrection that a Spirit does not have flesh and bones...God, who is Spirit, is not a physical being, and does not have flesh and bones...So God is without a body, and is not physical...He is not flesh, but is completely pure, love, and holy...Without a body and Being a Spirit, He can be anywhere and at anytime, and be in multiple places...
The LORD is near to all that call upon Him in truth...Those who worship God and get Him near will worship Him both in Spirit and Truth...Jesus who is the image of our invisible God (Colossians 1:15)...Jesus is the way, the truth, and is life...Jesus is our connection to God who is Spirit, and the truth is how we worship Him and how we get Him near...
God is the Father of all nations and everyone...The Spirit of the man's soul is influenced by the Holy Spirit...Strangely, Jesus tells us it is good that He had to leave earth before we could get the Holy Spirit...I tell you the Truth (Jesus is Truth), unless I go away the Holy Spirit will not come (John 16:7)...So Jesus had to go back to heaven before we could receive the Holy Spirit...When we worship God in truth and Spirit, He delights and is glorified...
There is only One God...God is God, or another way to say this, is the Father is God...Jesus is the Word, and the Word was God...Jesus is the Son of God...God is Spirit or the Spirit is God...To sum this up, the Father is God, the Son is God, the Spirit is God...This is our Trinity...God' attributes are three essences and One God...
Jesus tells us that God is Spirit and that we must worship Him in both Spirit and in Truth...Jesus told the Samaritan woman that the time has come when we do not have to worship God from one physical location, like Jerusalem...God is eternal and infinite...We can worship God from anywhere...We are to the best of our knowledge worship Him, knowing that He is a Spirit...Paul also makes the connection of God not having a body and is a Spirit, when He talks in Athens...God made the whole world and everything in it...He is the LORD of the land and the sky...He does not live in temples built by human hands...He is the One who gives people life, breath, and everything else they need...He does not need any help from man...He has everything He needs...God began by making one man, and from this first man, he made all the different people who live everywhere in the world...He decided exactly when and where they would live...God wanted people to look for and seek Him, and perhaps in searching all around for Him, they would find Him...But God is not far from any of us...It is through Him that we are able to live, to do what we do, and to be who we are...As your own Greek poets have said, ‘We all come from Him.’...
So we must worship God in Spirit and in Truth...We, as man, worship Him from our very soul...And the soul is like the Spirit, something that is not physical with flesh and bones, but of Spirit...The Spirit of God, Eternal and Infinite...Our soul is our connection to Jesus, God's Holy Spirit and to God Himself...
