Episode 6: Enhancing a Face-to-Face Learning Environment

PORTFOLIO ENTRY

Title: The Face-to- Fce Learning Environment

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

• Inside the room is actually spacious and learners can more or roam around in the classroom. It is well-arranged, the board displays are also nice and attractive as well as it stimulates learning. The school premises are safe and the classroom is safe/free from hazards. There are six ceiling fans and 1 stand fan inside the classroom so it is really well-lit and well-ventilated. The students are comfortable to learn.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT

• One of the rules they made is to wear their school uniform. I guess there were two people who did not follow the rules. There are no sets of expectations but instead, the teacher has her own way to motivate her students. The students during my observation were very participative, they pay respect, and they avoid sarcasm inside the classroom, especially during discussions. I was not able to observe where learners share their experiences.

SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT

• There are lots of opportunities for positive interaction inside the classroom but I wasn't able to observe outdoor activities for Grade 7- Everlasting. However, they showed camaraderie in different ways. Through paying respect, individual needs and differences are considered.
