Episode 6: Classroom Management and Classroom Routines

REFLECTION

If you want a calm, pleasant, and well-run class, then regulations in the classroom are quite crucial. In addition, it will teach the students how to be disciplined and controlled. Because of that, it makes students more responsible and conscious of the rules inside the classroom. That is why, I believe that classroom rules are really important.

These are some common rules in the classroom: 1. Read directions well, 2. Avoid too much noise, 3. Do your work well, 4. Wear your uniform every day, 5. Be courteous and respectful and many others. During my observation, I noticed that the routine in the class helps to keep things orderly. One thing I noticed every time the teacher requested them to get the books was that the selected males would always get the books and give them to their classmates. For me, it worked well to maintain peace and prevent excessive noise and distractions. The teacher used the given time efficiently.

In the future, I'll probably use the following routines in class:

1. Morning prayer is something that we should never skip since understanding the subject requires the insight, knowledge, and direction of God.

2. Checking attendance allows teachers to keep an eye on absent students

3. Share motivational sayings, quotes, or any other that could help students reflect before the start of the class.

4. Arrange the chair to maintain order

5. Integrate ICT tools

6. Conduct an engaging teaching-learning process

7. QUIZ/ASSESSMENT - I should provide at least brief activity to ensure that students are learning
