Which is your favorite theory of development? How can this guide you as a future teacher?
I choose Erikson's theory as it maintained that personality develops in a predetermined order through eight stages of psychosocial development. During this stage, the person experiences a psychosocial crisis which could have a positive or negative outcome on personality development.
According to the study of Dalton State, Teaching Erikson's theory at different grade levels is important to ensure that students will attain mastery of each stage in Erikson's theory without conflict. There are specific classroom activities that teachers can incorporate into their classroom during the three stages that include school-age children.
Moreover, as a person grows up, he/she will acquire and construct knowledge and different characteristics that fit his/her age depending on the stage he/she belongs.
