In additional to state testing, Insight students are required to take the STAR 360 Math and Reading Assessments every trimester.
Completion of the test is worth points in all your courses.
Please note that points will NOT be added to your courses right away. Star360 is not connected to your gradebook. Teachers must read a report and enter points.
Why do we need these tests? We use the results throughout the year to:
Track the growth of all students on essential Math and English standards
Improve the quality of our curriculum and instruction
Identify the learning needs of individual students
Because these tests are being held in live sessions this year, we ask that you please complete this test during one of those sessions. You will see them on your schedule and hear about them from your teachers and academic advisors.
PARENTS AND STUDENTS - IT'S MANDATORY!
Insight students are required to participate in the state-mandated academic assessments. Specific testing days and locations will be distributed closer to the actual testing window.
You will be assigned to the closest testing facility for your address that we have on file.
However, if you miss your date, you may not be able to test close to you so it is super important that you make it to the one that is assigned the first time.
These tests will be administered by a virtual academy teacher or administrator.
These tests will provide useful information to parents and teachers on your child’s academic progress.
If Insight’s participation rate falls below 95%, the school will not meet its participation rate required by the state. This will negatively impact the school.

Smarter Balanced Practice and Training Tests
To ensure students are comfortable with the upcoming CAASPP test administration, please encourage your students to take the practice training test. Students can take the test as many times as they wish. Due to being a training test, results will not be available.
