Daily Attendance
Attendance crucial here at Insight. Attendance is automatically logged in our Online School/Canvas when you attend live sessions and complete work in classes.
Attendance/Engagement in courses is mandatory EVERY SCHOOL DAY.
If there is ever a day that you complete work offline instead of in an online course (for example, if you read a novel or work on an essay without being online), your parent or Learning Coach can note this in the Offline Worklog-Daily Attendance Survey as well.
Remember, daily attendance is an enrollment requirement, and failure to meet this requirement can result in removal from our program (missing as few as three days will lead to truancy notifications).
Attendance Reminders
A reminder is sent if your student has not accessed their online school (OLS) courses by midmorning. This is a general reminder letting you know they have yet to work in their courses and still have the rest of the day to do so.
You will also be notified if your student did not attend their scheduled live session within the first 5-10 minutes of the session.
These calls are your cue to have your student log into their live session or the online school immediately or as soon as possible.
Absences
Please let your Academic Advisor know if your student was absent due to an illness or doctor’s appointment.
Please be advised that you may be asked for a doctor’s note if your student was out for more than 3 days.
Internet Issues - Contact your Academic Advisor
Travel Plans - Contact your Academic Advisor 2 weeks prior to travel to make arrangements
The most important thing to do is just log in and work every day!
In addition to your content classes in our Online School/Canvas, you will meet with your homeroom teacher (Academic Advisor) every day at 8:30 for a mandatory live session. These sessions will be on your school schedule.
