California approved the GED® and HiSET® for students 18 years old and older, for the purpose of receiving a California High School Equivalency Certificate.
The third High School Proficiency option is the California Proficiency Program (CPP):
Students can earn the legal equivalent of a high school diploma issued by the state of California, however, it is only recognized in California.
The CPP utilizes the approved HiSET® subtests for language arts and mathematics to measure proficiency.
After passing the language arts and mathematics subtests of the proficiency program, the student will earn a Certificate of Proficiency which is the legal equivalent to a high school diploma issued by the state of California.
