Insight Schools of California operates as a DASS (Dashboard Alternative School Status) school serving at-risk youth. Being a DASS school allows us to provide students the ability to earn their high school diploma with the minimum graduation requirements as established by the state of California of 130 credits (please see our graduation requirements for a breakdown of specific requirements).
Each of our schools is a public charter school that is funded by state tax dollars and governed by California charter-school, independent study and applicable federal laws.
Additionally, Insight operates on a trimester system; there are three trimesters in the year and students take 4 classes each trimester. Students are successful at Insight due to a lighter course load, shorter duration of courses, and overall reduced credit requirement.
Please be advised, however, because of Insight's status as a DASS school and the reduced credit requirement, students are not eligible to enroll in a CSU/UC directly after high school graduation; students must first attend a community college and then transfer to a CSU/UC.
Insight School of California, Insight @ San Diego, and Insight @ San Joaquin are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
