Financial aid helps students and their families pay for college. This financial assistance covers educational expenses including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation. There are several types of financial aid, including grants and scholarships, work study and loans.
Males between the ages of 18-25 must register for Selective Service in order to receive their financial aid.
FREE MONEY FOR CALIFORNIA STUDENTS
CalKIDS is a California program that gives eligible newborns and low-income K-12 students free college savings accounts with up to $1,500 in seed money. No parent contribution is required, and funds can be used for tuition, books and other approved higher education expenses. Click here.
Cal-SOAP provides information about college & financial aid while raising the achievement levels of low-income students or geographic regions with low college participation rates, and who are first in their families to attend college.
Students and families can attend FREE Cash for College workshops for help completing the FAFSA, California Dream Act (CADAA) or Chafee Grant for Foster Youth applications.
