Empower your child to make informed career decisions
You have said it yourself, "I wish I knew that in high school." Give your child the chance to do just that. The ASVAB CEP is designed to help your child discover their interests and strengths.
The ASVAB CEP is a FREE career planning program designed for students in grades 10-12. Participation is voluntary. Your child can benefit from this unique opportunity to explore personal potential and the world of work at no cost and no commitment.
ASVAB CEP gives your child the confidence to map out a post-secondary plan that aligns with their individual skills and interests.
Taking the ASVAB CEP test will provide your student (11th-12th Graders only) with an Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) score in addition to their overall ASVAB CEP results. Note: Students who participate in the ASVAB CEP have no obligation to talk with military recruiters or consider a military career. Students interested in joining the military should discuss this score with a recruiter. Scores are good for two years from the date of the test.
After taking the ASVAB, your child will receive an access code they can use to create an account at the ASVAB CEP online platform. This unlocks the career exploration tools you can use together to identify careers they are best suited for and explore the various paths they can take after graduation.

Q: How long is the assessment?
A: Insight has opted to offer the paper and pencil version of the test, which includes 8 subtests, a total of 200 items. The paper and pencil version usually takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.
Q: Is this only a military test?
A: No, the ASVAB CEP is comprehensive career exploration exam that will help you decide which path to take after high school, whether that be college bound, direct to work, or the military.
Students in grades 11-12 will receive an AFQT score that they may choose to share with military recruiters. You are not obligated to speak with military recruiters or consider a military career. Insight will not be releasing your scores to recruiters.
The ASVAB test isn’t just an evaluation of somebody interested in the military, but somebody interested in their abilities and what occupations and careers they might consider pursuing in the near future.
