Front of Yonge

 Front of Yonge Township  sits on the St. Lawrence River between Brockville and Gananoque.  It is named for Sir George Yonge, British Secretary of War during the War of 1812.     Yonge Street in Toronto is also named for him. The term “Front” refers to the fact that it fronts on the St. Lawrence.
