Carrying Place is a rural community in the northwest corner of Prince Edward County. It was named because it was a place to portage between the Bay of Quinte and Weller’s Bay in Lake Ontario rather than paddling all the way around the peninsula. Boats can now travel through the Murray Canal to make this trip.
Along the Loyalist Parkway near here you may have seen a number of large antennae. This is a Department of National Defence installation.
