START SEATED IN A CIRCLE
Would you rather complete a 5k in the mountains or the rainforest? Why?
Would you rather be pocket sized or a giant? Why?
Lead: Annie
Can anyone name all the GOTR names?
Last weeks goal: Self Talk
Self-Talk is what you say to yourself, either in your head or out loud.
All bodies are worth celebrating no matter their ability, disability, shape, size, hair, or skin color.
All bodies rock!
What do you think we mean when we say, "All bodies rock?"
How we think about ALL bodies and OUR OWN BODIES affects how we feel about ourselves and how bright our Star Power can Shine!"
Circle up: I will read a statement about our bodies, you will decide if it helps your Star Power shine or dim.
If it helps it shine do a shooting star.
If it dims our star curl up like a cloud.
My body gives me the power to do lots of things.
If I don't look like everyone else, I am not good enough.
My body rocks!
I wish I could change how I looked.
My body is unique just like me.
My body gives me the power to do lots of things.
If I don't look like everyone else, I am not good enough. (I am enough.. I do not need to look like anyone else.....My body is unique just like me.)
My body rocks!
I wish I could change how I looked. (I wish people could see people for who they are.)
My body is unique just like me.
In this activity,
I will read a series of statements about bodies.
You will move to the far cone and come back to the cone that marks your choice "True" or "False"
Journals: Page 14. Today we learned one tool we can use to activate our Star Power is to LOVE OUR BODIES! Find the heart in your toolbox and write or draw 1 thing you learned about loving your body today.
Add your lap goal.
Put your journal away.
Put your necklace.
Write your name on a cup.
"For today's workout, we are going to fill up cups of love for our bodies - to help us remember our bodies ROCK!"
Find a rock to steady your cup and put it on the picnic table.
Think about:
Today we learned one tool to activate our Star Power is to Love Our Bodies. When we activate our Star Power we feel more confident, and we feel appreciation for our bodies.
Girls on the run is so much fun!
