Sometimes it's hard to activate our Star Power, and we end up going with the crowd. For example: when everyone else dislikes broccoli, it's really hard to admit that you love it! At Girls on the Run, we have a strategy we use to help us activate our Star Power and do what feels right to us. This strategy is called "STOP & TAKE a Breather'!" (Page 8 in Journal)
STOP: First, you STOP yourself from immediately acting/responding.
BREATHE: Next, you take 5 deep breaths, and then...
THINK: Think through the choices you have. (Ask yourself: Does this choice activate my Star power and others' Star Power? )
RESPOND: Finally, choose one of those ways to respond!
STOP: yourself from immediately acting/responding.
BREATHE: Take 5 deep breaths.
THINK: Take a moment to think and decide...."I don't want to."
RESPOND: "You know, I don't feel right ........ (Walk Away)
