Het Noordereiland is een eiland in de Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, verbonden door de Willemsbrug en Koninginnebrug. Het heeft 3600 inwoners en is onderdeel van het stadsdeel Feijenoord in Rotterdam-Zuid. Sinds 2005 heeft het eiland de status van beschermd stadsgezicht.

Bij de Duitse bombardementen in mei 1940 bleef het Noordereiland veel beter bewaard dan andere delen van de stad, omdat het Noordereiland door de Luftwaffe ontzien werd, aangezien de Duitsers zich er verschanst hadden. Wel zijn door een aantal Engelse bombardementen, die bedoeld waren om de Duitsers te verjagen, meer dan 600 woningen aan de punten van het Noordereiland verwoest.

De aanleg van de nieuwe Willemsbrug in 1981 en de Willemsspoortunnel in 1994 hebben de oostkant van het eiland nogal veranderd door veel sloop van oude gebouwen en nieuwbouw. De oude spoorbrug, De Hef, is nu een rijksmonument. Aan het begin van het Burgemeester Hoffmanplein staat de door Henri Evers in 1898 ontworpen Wilhelminafontein ter gelegenheid van de troonsbestijging van Koningin Wilhelmina.

The Noordereiland (North island) is an island in the Nieuwe Maas tiver in Rotterdam, connected by the Willemsbrug (William's bridge) and the Koninginnebrug (Queen's bridge). It has 3600 inhabitants and is part of the Feijenoord district in Rotterdam-South. Since 2005 the island has the status of protected city view.

During the German bombing raids in May 1940, the Noordereiland was much better preserved than other parts of the city, because the Noordereiland was spared by the Luftwaffe, since the Germans had entrenched themselves there. However, a number of English bombing raids, designed to drive out the Germans, did destroy more than 600 homes at the points of the North Island.

The construction of the new Willemsbrug in 1981 and the new Willems railway tunnel in 1994 changed the east side of the island quite a bit with a lot of demolition of old buildings and new constructions. The old railroad bridge, De Hef, is now a monument. At the entrance to Burgemeester Hoffmanplein stands the Wilhelmina fountain designed by Henri Evers in 1898 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Wilhelmina.
