This week, the Elkhart Lady Cat softball team is having a game on Tuesday, March 25th at Holcomb, with JV at 4:00 PM and Varsity at 6:00 PM. Thursday's game, on March 27th, is at home. JV starts at 2:30 PM, and Varsity starts at 4:00 PM. Come out and support our Elkhart Wildcats!
The Cat Chronicles is thrilled to unveil the lineup of films playing at Doric Theater this week.
The Last Breath is showing on March 26th and 27th. The film is about a diver stranded at the bottom of the North Sea with only five minutes of oxygen and no chance of rescue for at least thirty minutes. The original participants share emotional firsthand accounts of a life-changing incident.
Paddington in Peru is showing on March 28th and 29th. It tells the story of Paddington, who discovers that his beloved aunt has disappeared from the Home for Retired Bears. He and the Brown family head to the Peruvian jungle to find her. Determined to solve the mystery, they soon stumble upon a legendary treasure while traveling through the Amazon rainforest.
This week's teacher spotlight is on Mr. Alread. He has been working in our school system for only a year. Last year was his first year in Elkhart, and he loves it. He also served in the U.S. military for a few years. His mentor suggested he become a school counselor because of how good he was with kids. While he doesn’t have a favorite memory, he truly enjoys helping kids in need, and we are all grateful for him.
This week’s senior spotlight is on Brylon Zeiher. Brylon’s favorite teacher of all time is Mr. Siemens. His favorite class is Mrs. Holly’s. His best school memories are playing basketball and participating in track. After high school, Brylon plans to visit Scotland to see his family there, then travel to Canada for some “business.” His favorite school year is a tie between his senior year and freshman year.
This week's Senior Spotlight features Joslyn Villa. Joslyn’s all-time favorite teacher is Mrs. Shrauner, and her favorite high school class was Medical Terminology with Ms. Warren. Her most cherished high school memory took place during her freshman year when she walked into her art class and found baby goats. After graduating, Joslyn plans to attend college and pursue a career she is passionate about. Her favorite year of high school was her freshman year.
