Our weekly senior spotlight is all about Junior Guillen. Junior recollected on his Elkhart High School career and memories. Junior said, “My favorite teacher ever is Ms. Ambrosier.” When thinking about his favorite class, he loved geography his sophomore year. He said, “ My favorite high school moment was winning league my freshman year.” After high school, Junior plans to make a lot of money. Being an athlete all of his high school career, his favorite sport he play is basketball, which he competed in all four years of high school. His favorite year of high school was his freshman year. When asked a random fact about him, he said, “I have four siblings.”
This week's teacher spotlight focuses on Kason Siemens. Coach Siemens is our P.E. and Health education teacher. He has lived in Elkhart and worked for USD 218 for about 4 years. He made the move from Sublette, Kansas to Elkhart when Mr. Wilson asked him to come to USD 218. Coach Siemns said, “He asked me to come down and try it out, so I came down to see what Elkhart was really about.” When it comes to years spent in coaching, he responded, “In total, I have been coaching for 6 years, but for Elkhart, I've been coaching for 4 years.” His favorite memory while working at USD 218 made him smile when he said, “My favorite memory is taking the boys to state finals for baseball.”

A Complete Unknown, showing on February 5th and 6th. This film takes place in the 60s when a young man named Bob Dylan arrives in New York intending to change the course of American music. Since he is a famous boy, he starts a relationship and this causes him to make controversial decisions that have repercussions throughout the world.
Yesterday evening, an American Airlines plane carrying 64 passengers collided midair with an Army Black Hawk helicopter carrying three soldiers near Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. The crash took the lives of all 67 individuals involved.

Wildcats Court Report
The Wildcats fought hard against a good team in the Lakin Broncs Tuesday but fell short. They fall to 6-7 on the season. The face off against Stanton County Trojans in Johnson next week on Tuesday. The last time they met the Trojans defeated our Wildcats 70-46. Come out and support as it is only a 45 minute drive! Varsity game starts at 7:00, JV at 4:00, C team at 5:00(half a game).
On Tuesday, January 28th the Lady Wildcats took the hard loss against the Lakin Broncs on their home floor. The Lady Wildcats fought a tough battle playing a very competitive Lady Broncs team. On Tuesday, February 4th the Lady Wildcats travel to Stanton County to play on their home floor, with high hopes of beating the Lady Trojans.
