Wildcats Stumble Against Bronces In Lakin Doubleheader Despite Strong Season Start.
The Elkhart Wildcats, who have been a formidable force on the baseball diamond this season, experienced a tough day on Tuesday, April 15th, as they traveled to Lakin to face the Broncs. Entering the doubleheader with a commendable 10-2 record, the Wildcats were met with a determined Lakin squad that swept both contests. The Broncs secured a 6-1 victory in the opening game and followed it up with a 7-0 shutout in the second, handing a significant setback to Elkhart's otherwise impressive campaign.
Elkhart Lady Cats Face Home Game After Cancellation
The Elkhart Lady Cats were scheduled to compete in Holcomb on Thursday, April 24. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the game was canceled.
Looking ahead, the team will take the field again on Friday, April 25, in a home matchup. Both Junior Varsity and Varsity squads are set to play. Be sure to support the Lady Cats as they aim for victory on their home turf!
The Elkhart Wildcats hit the road Tuesday for the 88th Annual Scott Relays in Scott City, Kansas.
Baylor Childress led the Wildcats with an impressive performance, earning a 3rd place medal in discus and a 2nd place finish in shot put. The team competed with grit and determination throughout the meet and will carry that same energy into their next competition in Sublette on April 29th.
Elkhart Golf Teams Shine in Competition
The Elkhart High School varsity golf team competed this week at Dodge City’s Mariah Hills course, where senior Bodie Higgins secured a strong 10th-place finish. Higgins delivered a solid performance against tough competition, earning well-deserved recognition.
Meanwhile, the junior varsity golf team competed closer to home in Elkhart, with two golfers placing among the top contenders. Carlos claimed 4th place, while Wesley finished in 6th, both demonstrating skill and determination on the course.
