6.1 Finalizing

Before you finalize your video, you will need to describe how you incorporated feedback from your colleagues who have given you feedback on your storyboard (in Padlet). You will briefly describe what feedback you choose to incorporate and why. You'll post your reflection to our Google+ Community. Due: April 16, 2017, 11:59 pm.

When you are finished editing your video you will need to upload it to the hosting site, YouTube. You will need to make sure that your video is uploaded as either "Unlisted," or "Public."

If you are unfamiliar with how to upload to YouTube, please view this tutorial: Link.

Making Your Video Accessible

If you would like, make your video accessible. If you upload your video to YouTube, YouTube will use voice recognition technology to automatically add captions to your video (sometimes it takes a couple days). However, note that sometimes the automatic captions can be pretty bad. The good news is that you can use the automatic captions as a starting point as seen in this video. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to caption a 5 minute video.

Additionally, GMU's Assistive Technology Initiative has some tips and can help with making videos accessible. See details here: http://ati.gmu.edu/do-it-yourself-accessible-text/

There will be a few final steps before your video "goes live." That is, you will need to make it interactive. This will be covered in 6.2
