Testes funcionais são testes que medem o nível de função de um indivíduo e a capacidade de realizar tarefas funcionais ou relacionadas ao trabalho de maneira segura e confiável.26

Dados importantes

A avaliação dos testes funcionais consiste em uma bateria abrangente de testes baseados em desempenho para tentar fornecer ao fisioterapeuta informações detalhadas sobre as capacidades do paciente para executar o seu trabalho e suas atividades da vida diária.2-25


Os testes funcionais são um componente essencial na fisioterapia, auxiliando na garantia da qualidade da intervenção, melhoria contínua da qualidade, análise de custo/benefício, educação e pesquisa.28


Porém, é importante ressaltar que estudos sugerem que a maioria dos testes clínicos para a coluna vertebral com precisão diagnóstica aceitável são para diagnósticos não críticos como, por exemplo, hérnia de disco ou outros danos estruturais.29

Função

Na fisioterapia, esse instrumento é comumente usado ​​para definir objetivos, para desenvolver intervenções terapêuticas específicas e para monitorar alterações clínicas.27


Os testes funcionais podem ser melhores quando realizados pelo fisioterapeuta responsável pelo tratamento durante o atendimento, pois os resultados podem ser comparados com observações anteriores, direcionar o tratamento, ajudar a avaliar o progresso e fornecer informações úteis sobre a função física do paciente.1
