SSD Licensed LIFE INSURANCE
Employees are automatically provided basic Life and basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage of $10,000 at District Expense with Standard Insurance company through OEBB. Employees may purchase up to $500,000 Life and AD&D coverage for the employee, spouse and children at employee expense.
Employees may purchase up to a $100,000 Optional Life and AD&D limit for themselves without providing proof of medical insurability when first eligible for coverage (newly hired.) This guaranteed issue amount is again offered during the 2012-2013 enrollment period. During future annual enrollment periods, OEBB members may be required to provide medical evidence and coverage may increase in smaller increments.
