Sentinel U V Simulation is a virtual clinical nursing simulation program for prelicensure nursing students and professional nurses.
Educators are able to utilize the virtual simulation resources to design an engaging curriculum enriched with interactive learning tools and structured course module maps, strategically aligned with national healthcare standards and essential clinical competencies. These clinical competencies range from community health/population health nursing, medical-surgical, pediatrics, tele- health to professional development. There are several other nursing simulation areas of content as well.
Students complete modules within their assigned competencies topic. These modules align with QSEN Quality and Safety Competencies, NLN Core Competencies, and AACN BSN Essentials.
Here is an example of Sentinel U Virtual Simulation for community health nursing.
This virtual simulation content for population health is a component of UW Bothell's RN to BSN community health nursing practicum. In this program students are required to complete 100 hours of clinical experience in community health nursing. This program complements the in person clinical experiences for these students.
