Quizizz is an interactive, "gamified" learning platform that allows the user to create and share lessons, flashcards, and various assessment tools like quizzes (hence the name). It was created in the spirit of making learning more fun, so it has a lot of unique and creative features. It's very user friendly and has a few upgrade options. The free version allows you to create up to 20 different activities.
Quizizz can do a lot for educators and students alike:
Assessment Creation: Teachers can create quizzes with various question types, including multiple-choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, and open-ended questions. Questions can include images, videos, and time limits for increased engagement. Content can be synchronous (live quizzes during class) or asynchronous (assigned as homework).
Pre-Built Content: Quizizz has an extensive library of pre-made quizzes and lessons across a lot of different subjects and grade levels. You can use them as is or customize them to suit your needs. There is a convenient search bar that allows you to look up various and specific topics - I found it very helpful!
Fun Features: The platform includes features like leaderboards, memes, and music to foster friendly competition and increase student engagement
Accessibility: Students don't need an account to join in on the fun, they can use a unique code. Also, they can participate individually or in teams on any device (but require internet access).
Reports and Feedback: Quizizz can provide performance reports that help teachers identify areas where students need improvement. Also, students receive instant feedback after each question.
