بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
1. أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ
1. أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ
2. أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ
2. أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ
3. وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
3. وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
4. تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ
4. تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ
5. فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ
5. فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Alam tara kaifa fa'ala rabbuka bi ashaabil feel
Alam yaj'al kaidahum fee tadleel
Wa arsala 'alaihim tairan abaabeel
Tarmeehim bihijaaratim min sijjeel
Faja 'alahum ka'asfim m'akool
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?
Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?
And He sent against them Flights of Birds,
Striking them with stones of baked clay.
Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.

1. أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ
1. أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ
2. أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ
2. أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ
3. وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
3. وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
4. تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ
4. تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ
5. فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ
5. فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ

Arabic: كَيْفَ تَفْعَلُ ذَٰلِكَ؟ (kayfa tafʿalu dhālika?)
Translation: How do you do that?
فَعَلَ (fa'ala) - He did
Example Sentence:
Arabic: فَعَلَ خَيْرًا (fa'ala khayran)
Translation: He did good
Example Sentence:
Arabic: فَعَلَ شَيْئًا مَهْمًا (fa'ala shay'an muhim)
Translation: He did something important
رَبُّكَ (rabbuka) - Your Lord
Example Sentence:
Arabic: رَبُّكَ خَيْرٌ (rabbuka khayr)
Translation: Your Lord is good
Example Sentence:
Arabic: رَبُّكَ عَظِيمٌ (rabbuka ʿaẓīm)
Translation: Your Lord is great
بِ (bi) - With

Translation: In the city
تَضْلِيلٍ (taḍlīl) - Misguidance
Example Sentence:
Arabic: تَضْلِيلٌ مَفْهُومٌ (taḍlīl mafhūm)
Translation: Misguidance is understood
Example Sentence:
Arabic: تَضْلِيلٌ سَيِّئٌ (taḍlīl sayyi')
Translation: Misguidance is bad
وَ (wa) - And
Example Sentence:
Arabic: وَاللَّـهُ غَفُورٌ (wa allāh ghafūr)
Translation: And Allah is Forgiving
Example Sentence:
Arabic: وَالْبَحْرُ عَمِيقٌ (wa al-baḥr ʿamīq)
Translation: And the sea is deep
أَرْسَلَ (arsala) - Sent
Example Sentence:
Arabic: أَرْسَلَ الرِّسَالَةَ (arsala ar-risālah)
Translation: He sent the letter
Example Sentence:
Arabic: أَرْسَلَ الْهَدِيَّةَ (arsala al-hadiyyah)
Translation: He sent the gift
عَلَيْهِمْ (ʿalayhim) - Upon them
Example Sentence:
Arabic: عَلَيْهِمْ الْعُقُوبَةُ (ʿalayhim al-ʿuqūbah)
Translation: Upon them is the punishment

فَجَعَلَهُمْ (faja'alahum) - So He made them

Translation: So He made them children

Translation: Eaten food
