Thank you to everyone who marched in the Labor Day Parade, it was great fun again.
Firefighters are without a contract since march, they had a nice turn out at Labor Day Parade.

Old Business
Safety
Upcoming meeting this week.
Email Teresa and Steve if you want to add anything to agenda.
De-escalation training should be included discussion.
If you see coworkers or public safety officers not handling a situation correctly, let us know.
An issue at a branch: safety officer let detective see camera without subpoena or even talking to manager. Was an urgent situation though.
We need clarification on certain issues that may come up.
Staffing and subbing
With Oregon covering staff, are we worried about losing subs?
Subs are still being used, some are getting hired in, or trying to get hired in, as full staff.
Retirees, in practicality, can no longer sub because of 2019 OPERS health coverage rules.
New Business
Contract Extension
Library HAS signed it.
One language change about 4% increase.
APLE changed it from “The Library will increase the salary schedules by 4%…” to “The Library will grant a 4% general wage increase.” This language change reflects the language that we currently use in the contract for our annual wage increases and avoids any possible confusion for Finance for those not maxed out in their salary schedule.
Board should approve this Thursday.
Sick Leave: in discussion with HR about leave, SL bank, ect.
SL bank has 16360 hours.
You can still fill out the contract survey now, but we will also send another survey closer to negotiations. Sending earlier will help us better prepare.
We may start earlier next year.
CWA will be going first.
Open Floor
Renee Sarra will be the new trustee.
Please fill out Energage survey.
Questions at end of survey about gender and sexuality have mixed feelings among staff.
Survey didn’t feel anonymous.
No one has gotten in trouble for saying something on survey in the past.
People may not feel they can be honest.
Insurance will only two kinds of birth control now?
IUDs not covered anymore?
Does ACA have to cover all forms? Is it because we are public institution or self insured?
Medical Mutual will honor our insurance plan from Paramount.
Parking at Main being taken up by people not using library services.
Not enough parking for employees or patrons.
Should the Library go back to paying for parking across the street?
Put up a sign and enforce it.
What is the response time to questions in Innovation Accelerator?
Not all questions or responses are posted.
Jason may not respond to initial question to the individual who asked it.
Adjourn: 7:20pm
