Old Business
Teresa said she wasn’t sure if everyone feels comfortable going to regionals with issues if they can’t be resolved with managers. Please take advantage of that if you are not getting what you need from your managers.
New hours started in January. Evenings seem quiet at some places, busy at others.
HR has been sending info about the cyber security incident to union heads. Please take advantage of the identity protection. Consider credit freezes. Some computers are randomly shutting down or having issues. Is that related to the security incident? Some former employees were not sure if the letter from IDX was genuine or not. How long do family members ‘information stay in the system?
Sundays started in January. We need to double the check dress code. You can’t get drafted while you are on probation. Reminder, volunteer every quarter if you want to be sure not to get drafted. Sundays are always time and a half, even if you are part time.
New Business
You can take a 30 minute lunch if you want. Your manager has to work with you to do it. Must come in at 9am or 12pm. The chairs are still in discussion over particulars. Andrea Francis is sitting in on meetings. Chairs may be releasing a survey. Be sure to take advantage of Jason’s office hours.
There is a new answering service to let people know we are out of tests or that we have them. UIC does our online chat, used to answer LIL. Call volume is down. Thank you for all your hard work.
Chairs having been meeting with admin and CWA for a safety committee. It’s written into CWA contract. It concerns environmental safety as well as security in the building. There should be a discussion about public officers, where they are, and incidences that are happening. There may be a safety survey. If you are not receiving support from admin, manager, or public safety, reach out to chairs. We would like to see training in de-escalation. Please write incident reports so the library has a record of what is happening.
Still getting signature pages done on the contract. We are hoping to get them soon. Printing may take a while, but will be on the Intranet as soon as it is done.
Open Floor
We are always trying to advocate for more staff. Teresa is compiling a list of staffing levels. Could we get data from reference surveys and Gimlet. Numbers of transactions could help with that.
New seniority list in the works.
Some members believe you should be able to use SL if you have Covid and don’t have available SL. Could we use SL bank for Covid sickness?
Has anyone renewed ALA, PL, OLC? New process seems more complicated than it should be. The form is not very friendly. Still have $400 per person to use. Are managers being told to assist with the use of these memberships, giving off desk time for webinars, meetings, ect...?
Meeting adjourned at 7:52pm.
