Call to order: 6:38pm

1. Positions

   1. Received general financials and staffing information from HR and Finance for the planned staffing complement changes. 

   2. They wanted $884k total in changes from APLE.

      1. These would include all the cut positions. 

      2. Not included are the unfilled positions

   3. APLE was informed recently that the small business librarians were asked to join Fact and Fiction and Ready to Read were asked to join Children’s to cover desks after the changes. 

2. Our plan

   1. Create 10 new Pt-1 and Pt-2 positions with no lay-offs and no bumping

      1. These positions would be where positions have been cut at branches with cut hours so we can keep give people the option to stay where they are if they want it. 

      2. Five positions would still be cut: 2 at Toledo Heights, 1 at King Road, 1 at Childrens, 1 at Computers and Media

      3. The average hourly wage used to determine our set goal was $33.90.

   2. Furloughing one hour per week.

   3. Forgoing 3% wage increase for one year.

   4. One day per week of union release for the APLE chair to be paid for by TAAP.

3. HR gave a lukewarm response to our suggestions

   1. CWA put furlough in their proposal as well.

   2. If exempt does furlough as well, we could save more throughout the library and save more jobs.

   3. The library has the final say on these positions.

      1. The library can either accept our proposal or not.

      2. The hope is the library will work with us on this.

   4. We talked with our lawyer to see what our options were. 

   5. If the library accepts it we will then vote on it. 

4. Part Time positions

   1. Give people the option to stay in their position f they want, otherwise bump to the next person in seniority. 

   2. If someone can’t take a part time position, they would take the layoff with the recall rights. 

   3. Is anyone interested in Part Time?

5. CAM was told the new Main hours were planned around branches so they could be pulled for coverage. 

6. If we go to a vote membership will be able to drop off ballot at a to be determined location.
