Updated positions list. We will try to make sure HR does that on a regular basis. David Lutz is the new negotiator.
Teresa, Steve, and Carlye marched in the Labor Day parade. There was a good crowd.
Treasurer
Petty Cash: $49.36
Please send in itemized receipts for mentee lunches. Limit is $40.
Old Business
Sundays
Be sure to sign up if you want.
Email Amber Kroggel if you want to be on the call-off list
Cell Phone Policy
Talked to the lawyer about policy. UAW says this is overreaching and we would contest it if there was a request for a members personal cell phone.
Limit how much work you do on private phones.
Use email to contact managers.
APLEs to APLEs
A chance to switch with another member for a day.
Trying to get a proposal together.
New Business
Staff Engagement Survey
Done by an outside company.
Be brutally honest.
If you are worried about being identified, be mindful of what you put in the survey.
APLE may be able to look at the survey responses, maybe a summary.
Encourage everyone to do it, even if they are new.
CWA not getting the time off desk to complete it.
Is there a way to resubmit it? You may be able to get the link again.
Merchandising
Accessibility has been an issue.
Some things are being moved around and the decisions why they were moved don’t make sense.
They don’t have proper shelving for what they want.
Waterville had their teen area taken away.
Librarians were not asked for input in merchandising and changes.
Computers and Media have issues with accessibility and have had multiple changes.
Toledo Heights had their teen area taken.
Youth Services not made aware of these changes.
When Steven asked about accessibility, he was told the patrons could ask for help or staff could get an accommodation.
Patron Privacy
We don’t store things for patrons, like passwords or logins.
Help patrons up to the point where they have to enter their private information, then make them type it in, like credit card or social security.
Open Floor
Open computer labs at Sylvania: 2-4 patrons, helped bridge digital divide. No longer offered. More 1-to-1 beings scheduled. NothStar is a new resource we will be using for computer classes.
Programs being regulated by downtown more than they did in the past.
Some of the branches are doing more pop-up programs or centrally planned programs.
Some groups don’t seem to get the same advertising commitments that others do. It’s disappointing to have a program that doesn’t get the same support as other.
