Shift Light

I've always liked to have shift lights in my bikes. I was just looking for a simple circular shift light that's rpm adjustable. They were either too big or too expensive. This is where, after my intensive research, I chanced upon an Australian product - Ecliptech.

Connection was simple. I used only 3 of the 6 wires. 2 for power and 1 for RPM signal. The other 3 wires could be used for displaying eg. fan status, but for that you need to upgrade to Shift P2+ (usb upgradeable)

The power was tapped from the day light / pilot light connector in the headlight. I used T-clips.

The RPM wire was tapped from pin 15 on the B connector at the ECU. You could also connect at the spark plug connector wires but this would require tank removal for any troubleshooting.

I had the unit mounted above the dash. A custom made metal bracket is holding this light weight unit.

Note: unit is not waterproof.

Job completed. RPM works right out of the box. Start and End RPM can be adjusted.

I am really surprised and impressed by the tiny text display in the unit.
