Brembo P4 34mm Nickel

After changing to GP4RX nickel for the front caliper, it was odd looking at the black rear caliper. Saw the upgrade on Free Spirits, but I wanted to retain the tiny rear disc. So the only way was to get hold of a Brembo P4 34 nickel caliper. Problem - no one makes a mount.

So I bought a used OEM rear caliper with mount from ebay and drew out a new mount. Pretty risky project as clearances of 1mm will impact brake performance. As expected, I had to make tiny modifications to the mounts to offset the caliper correctly. My trust angle grinder came to the rescue.

This is how it looks all fitted together. The speed sensor has got a nice position to it now.

All mounted and bled. Retained the OEM hose for now. Still considering if i should bypass the rear too.

The 34mm pads are not touching the magnetic speed ring. There is like 1mm clearance. On the other hand, the pads now make full contact with the disc surface, meaning more brakes.

I didn't do this as a performance mod, but more of a eye sore. And something to engineer.
