FTECU

Not being a fan of Dyno and local tuners, I decided with Flashtune with Active tune package. Why not Woolich - honestly not sure given the prices are similar. Maybe I just liked the name of Flashtune.

To install the main flashing harness that requires 4 wires to be added to the main harness requires removal of the ECU which is located at the front right corner of the head fairing from riders view.

Mine is euro spec and for some terrible reason, the ECU is clamped up with one way security screws. This just made the job worse with the removal of head fairing required just to access the ECU.

In the older Yammies and even Kawas had the ECU at the subframe and it was alot more convenient.

I was not prepared with the right chisel or grinder to remove this bolt. Lucky enough I had a cheap monkey plier lying around and that came to the rescue. For the reinstall, I have used 2 x M6 bolts from my ZX10.

Now, I cannot install the Activetune as the OEM Oxygen sensor is the smaller M12 type and the supplied Lambda sensor is M18 (typical standard). Hence, I have to delay this for another day.

Interim, I've uploaded the unrestricted H2 map from Flashtune and disabled a few features including exhaust servo motor (EXUP - Yammie term).

I didn't measure the main FTECU harness. Its a short wire anyways.

With the EXUP being disabled, I junked this entire assembly and saved 514g in the process. For those that feel this is needed, think about it...the full system does not have it anyways.
